Current Practice Status
Waiting list in operation - Because of the intensive nature of trauma work, I maintain a small, focused practice. My face to face sessions are currently at capacity; however, I am accepting applications for my waiting list. If you are ready to commit to deep, transformative work, please get in touch.
Price increase from April 2026 - I will be increasing session fees by £5 to £60 per session with effect from 1st April 2026. This brings my charges more in line with other local therpaists and takes account of additional operational fees I absorbed during the last quarter of 2025/26. The fees section of this website will be updated in the very near future.
A Different Background. A Different Approach.
I am not a conventional therapist. With four decades of experience as a Senior Police Officer and a Registered Nurse, I have dedicated my career to the frontlines of human crisis. My expertise lies in assisting individuals in addressing childhood trauma, sexual abuse, and PTSD. Operating from Market Harborough, I am among the few male therapists in the region with a focus on male sexual trauma and the recovery process. I provide a secure, straightforward, and authentic environment where clients can express their truths without reservation.

My approach
Life can often feel burdensome when past traumas resurface. You may find yourself awake at night, reflecting on distressing memories, or grappling with persistent feelings of anger, shame, or self-doubt that refuse to subside. If you have endured trauma, bullying, or abuse, you might be turning to substances such as alcohol or drugs as a means of coping, all the while feeling entrapped in your circumstances. It is important to recognise that you need not navigate this journey alone. Therapy can provide a supportive environment where you feel genuinely listened to, validated, and understood.
I take a special interest in working with adults in midlife who are grappling with the enduring impact of trauma—whether stemming from childhood abuse, sexual assault, or experiences of bullying and discrimination. These challenges frequently manifest as difficulties in sleeping, intrusive memories, diminished self-esteem, harsh self-criticism, relationship issues, or anger that may feel unmanageable. Additionally, individuals may seek solace in alcohol or drugs, which can introduce further layers of guilt or shame. In our sessions, my objective is to approach your experiences with compassion and honesty, guiding you towards a constructive path forward. Clients often express appreciation for my candour, warmth, and genuine listening abilities. Many men, in particular, report feeling comfortable discussing their experiences with me. My qualifications stem not only from professional training but also from over 24 years of practical experience as a police officer and leader, which provides me with a grounded perspective that fosters an environment of safety for sharing even the most challenging narratives. In our collaborative work, you will gain insights into how trauma impacts both the brain and body, elucidating why your experiences are valid. I will equip you with practical strategies to manage symptoms such as intrusive memories, emotional turbulence, or self-criticism, empowering you to regain a sense of control. As the therapeutic process unfolds, many clients develop a clearer understanding of themselves and their triggers, experience a reduction in feelings of shame, and begin to rebuild their self-esteem and foster healthier relationships. Above all, therapy aims to offer you the opportunity to feel a sense of lightness, reconnect with your authentic self, and progress towards a life filled with compassion, stability, and the ability to both give and receive love. If any of this resonates with you, I welcome the opportunity to discuss how we might work together. Taking the step to reach out is significant, and you deserve support that ensures you feel genuinely heard and understood.
